Picked to finish fifth in the Centennial Conference Preseason poll, Hopkins opened its 2007-08 campaign on November 17-18 by hosting the Mike Durgala Memorial Tournament. The Blue Jays defeated Wesley in the season opener, 79-65. It was JHU's 18th win in a season opener under head coach Nancy Funk. However, the next day, Hopkins would drop a 68-56 decision to FDU-Florham in the championship game of the tournament.

That loss to the Red Devils was the start of a three-game losing streak for the Blue Jays. It included a loss at #11 Messiah and to Franklin & Marshall in the Centennial Conference opener.

Hopkins bounced back with a 78-45 victory over Swarthmore on December 1. That however, would be the last time the Blue Jays would dent the win column until January 12. The four-game losing streak that ensued included a loss to #4 NYU, just after the New Year.

Hopkins bounced back with back-to-back wins on January 12 and 15 over Bryn Mawr (63-57) and Notre Dame (89-57). Losses to Muhlenberg on January 17 and St. Mary's on January 21 were sandwiched around a second win over Swarthmore. A 65-62 victory over McDaniel on January 24 was the start of a four-game win streak for Hopkins. The streak included three straight come-from-behind victories and a total team defense effort, holding Ursinus to just 37 points.

A tightly contested contest with Franklin & Marshall saw the Blue Jays come out on the wrong end as a 64-63 loss snapped Hopkins' win streak. The Blue Jays bounced back with a 67-45 win at Haverford.

That win was followed by losses to Gettysburg and Muhlenberg to knock the Blue Jays out of playoff contention. Hopkins rallied to finish the season with two straight wins and a record of 12-12, 10-8 in the Centennial.

Below are individual notes of interest from the season:

• Senior forward Andrea Dodrill capped an outstanding Blue Jay career by earning Second Team All-Centennial honors. Dodrill set a career-high in nearly every offensive category. She finished with 260 points and 243 rebounds and is one of just two players in the Centennial Conference to finish the season averaging a double-double (10.8 ppg and 10.1 rpg).

• Hopkins players dished out 235 assists on the season. Juniors Jenna Berninger, Sarah DePaolo, Jonay Foster, Kristin Phillips and Caitlin Sloane accounted for over half of that number as they had 122 assists combined on the season. Sloane led that group with a career-high 60.

• Sophomore guard Leigh McAdams hit all three of her three-pointers in Centennial Conference action this season.

• Sophomore Steph Kielb made the most of her first career start, knocking down a career-high 14 points to go along with two rebounds and three assists against Ursinus.

• Freshman forward Lyndsay Burton had a solid first season for the Blue Jays. She scored in double figures in 12 games and recorded two double-doubles on the year.

• Sophomore forward Monica Mitchell gave the Blue Jays a solid rebounder off the bench. Mitchell pulled down four or more rebounds in 16 of a possible 24 games. She also added a season-high 10 rebounds against Bryn Mawr.

• The sophomore class proved to be solid at hitting their free throws this season. The group of Leigh McAdams, Britni Lonesome, Steph Kielb, Monica Mitchell and Anastasia Wynn combined to go 89-of-133 (66.9%) from the charity stripe.

• Freshman Siobhan Callanan knocked down a career-high eight points at Swarthmore.

• Junior guard Jenna Berninger was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for her success on the court and in the classroom.

• Junior Sarah DePaolo had a career day against Swarthmore in December, scoring seven points and pulling down nine rebounds.

• Sophomore Britni Lonesome scored in double figures in six games this season including a career-high 18 against F&M. She later matched that with 18 against Washington.

• Hopkins dominated the rebounding battle this year once again. JHU finished the season leading the Centennial Conference in rebounding margin at +8.5. The Blue Jays only lost the rebounding battle three times this year and two of those three times were only by four rebounds and only one of those times was to a Centennial Conference team.

• Sophomore Anastasia Wynn came back from missing six games mid-season and proved to be one of the team's most reliable free throw shooters. Wynn hit 36-of-53 chances from the line for 67.9%.

• Junior Kristin Phillips provided the Blue Jays a solid force on the boards this season. She grabbed a career-high 201 rebounds this season, second on the team to Dodrill. She also posted her career-high for an individual game with 18 boards at Washington.

• When junior Jonay Foster takes the court next season, she will have a 13-game point streak on the line. Foster scored at least two points in each of the first 13 games for the Blue Jays. She missed the final 11 games of the season due to injury.

• Sophomore Leslie Markun set her career-high in points and rebounds this season. She had seven points at Dickinson and six rebounds versus FDU-Florham.

• Freshman Hayley Falk made the most of her Blue Jay debut against Notre Dame, scoring two points and grabbing a rebound.

• Hopkins proved to be a good team in terms of steals. Ten times, JHU had more steals then their opponents.

• Hopkins returns all of this years squad but Dodrill next season. The Blue Jays will also welcomes back Katie Biggart, who was lost to injury this year.
