Cole Named Centennial Player of the Week

Cole averaged a double-double for the week.

LANCASTER, PA – Junior Rory Cole of the Johns Hopkins women’s basketball has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week the league announced today. This is her first weekly honor and the first of the season for Hopkins (12-7, 11-3 CC).

Cole led JHU to a 3-0 week which featured wins over Dickinson (72-54), McDaniel (57-47) and Ursinus (70-51) as the Blue Jays are currently fourth in the conference standings. For the week, Cole averaged a double-double with 13.3 rebounds and 11.7 points. In the victory over the Red Devils, Cole fell just one point short of a double-double as she scored nine points and grabbed ten rebounds. The junior from Bellevue, ID has a career game against the Green Terror as she set new career-highs in rebounds (18) and points (15). She notched her second double-double of the week against the Bears, grabbing 12 boards and scoring 11 points. Cole also had five blocks and shot 50% from the floor during the week.

The Blue Jays return to the court on Wednesday, January 31 for a big Centennial Conference matchup against Gettysburg. Tip-off scheduled for 6 pm.
