TOWSON, MD - Six players scored in double figures as the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team scored 100 points for the first time in school history in a 104-38 victory over Goucher College tonight in non-conference action. The Blue Jays improved to 3-0 on the year, while the Gophers fell to 1-2.

The 104 points break the school-record of 97 set versus Widener in a 97-67 win during the 1990-91 season and tied against Roger Williams in a 97-23 win during the 1993-94 season.

Hopkins opened the game with an 18-0 run and led 39-11 with 7:41 left in the first half after three consecutive three pointers in a 40-second span. JHU led 56-22 at the half and then held the Gophers to just 16 points in the second half on 16 percent shooting (5-31). JHU shot 48 percent from the field for the game.

Sophomore forward Trista Snyder (West Chester, PA/Unionville) led Blue Jays with 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Junior center Kathy Darling (Milford, DE/Milford) added 13 points and seven rebounds, while senior forwards Jennifer Butterwei (Arnold, MD/Archbishop Spalding) and Heidi Sumser (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) each scored 12 points. Butterwei added a game-high eight rebounds.

Sophomore guard Maureen Myers (Waverly, PA/Abington Heights) and freshman forward Ashanna Randall (Media, PA/Penncrest) rounded out the Hopkins players in double figures with 10 points each. Stephanie Tolbert led Goucher with 18 points.

The Blue Jays return to action Sunday afternoon with a home game against Villa Julie College at 4 p.m. This will be the first ever meeting with the Mustangs. Hopkins will then face Marymount University on Monday at 7 p.m.
