Five Blue Jays Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Award

NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Five members of the Johns Hopkins men's cross country team were named Division III All-Academic by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2017 season. JHU was also named an All-Academic team with a team GPA of 3.58.

Conner Delahanty, Ollie Hickson, Jared Pangallozzi, Panth Patel and Scott Pourshalchi were all honored for their efforts in the classroom and on the course. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at an NCAA regional event.

Delahanty finished 36th at regionals and has a 3.53 GPA with a major in engineering. Hickson finished 15th at regionals and boasts a 3.48 GPA with a chemical and biomolecular engineering major while Pangallozzi has a 3.40 GPA with majors in mechanical engineering and math finished 41st at regionals. Patel came in 20th in the regional race and sports a 3.59 GPA with a major in mechanical engineering while Pourshalchi, who was the top finisher for the Blue Jays in both the regional (5) and NCAA race (63), has a GPA of 3.65 with a major in mechanical engineering.
