Hopkins Cruises to York Invitational Men's Title

YORK, PA - Junior Steve Tobochnik claimed the York Invitational individual title as the Johns Hopkins men's cross country team placed seven runners in the top 15 and easily captured the team title Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays totaled 31 points to easily defeat runner-up Navy, which had three individual finishers in the top 10. Navy finished with 53 points to earn second place, while Franklin & Marshall (97), York (103) and McDaniel (144) rounded out the top five. Derek Cheng (26:38.39) and David Sigmon (26:26.89) finished fourth and sixth-place, respectively, while Michael Yuan (26:52.08) rounded out the top four Hopkins runners. Brandon Hahn (27:00.09), Nicholas Kisley (27:13.26), Graham Belton (27:22.04) and Andrew Yen (27:22.84) added 11th, 13th, 15th and 16-place finishes, to secure the team title for the Blue Jays, who displayed their depth with a pack of seven finishers between 11th and 22nd place. The Blue Jays return action when they compete in the Paul Short Invitational Saturday, October 2. - 30 -
