Hopkins Captures Baltimore Metro Invitational Title

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's cross-country team opened its season by capturing the Baltimore Metro Invitational for the fourth straight year. The Blue Jays finished with 19 points on the day to beat out Centennial Conference rival McDaniel, who had 56 points to finish second.
Senior Patrick Brandon captured the individual title for the second straight year as he completed the course in 15:54. Senior James Bronson and Anthony Littlejohn of Coppin State battled down to the line for second place. As Littlejohn (15:58.60) crossed just a quarter of a second in front of Bronson (15:58.84). Freshman Steve Tobochnik finished fourth with a time of 16:06 while Graham Belton rounded out the top five after crossing the line in 16:23. The Blue Jays also captured sixth through 10th place in the meet, as there was a gap of just 42 seconds between the top seven finishers.
The Blue Jays will return to action as the NYU Invitational on September 15th. The race gets underway at 10 a.m.
