Hopkins Men's Cross Country History and Tradition
The Johns Hopkins men’s cross country team has seen a resurgence of success in recent seasons, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in 2011, 2012, and 2013— the program’s first appearances at the NCAAs since 1977 – and winning the program’s first Centennial Conference Championship in 2013. Head coach Bobby Van Allen has also guided the Blue Jays to six top-three finishes at the Centennial Conference Championships in the past seven years. Prior to this stretch, JHU had only placed higher than fifth just twice in the previous 14 years.
