Hopkins to Host Beat the Streets
BALTIMORE, MD -- The Johns Hopkins wrestling team will welcome Friendship Academy and the Barclay School to Goldfarb Gymnasium for an elementary school wrestling match through Beat the Streets-Baltimore on Friday, January 19. The match, which will precede the Blue Jays' match against York, will start at 5:45 pm.
The Beat the Streets Wrestling Program of Baltimore is committed to providing a positive environment that nurtures physical and mental development through wrestling, mentoring and tutoring programs. The non-profit organization's goal is to establish youth wrestling programs in the Baltimore City Public School System.
Norris and the Blue Jays have been active with Beat the Streets for several years and Friday's match between Friendship Academy and The Barclay School will provide elementary school wrestlers the opportunity to compete and then attend the Division III wrestling match between the Blue Jays and the Spartans.
Johns Hopkins is currently 3-0 on the year, while York will carry a 5-2 record into Friday's match.
