29th-Ranked Etown Knocks off Johns Hopkins, 33-11, in Non-Conference Wrestling Action

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The 29th-ranked Elizabethtown wrestling team won seven of 10 matches, including four of five midway through the match, as the Blue Jays knocked off visiting Johns Hopkins, 33-11, at Thompson Gymnasium Tuesday night. Etown got three pins and a forfeit to account for 24 of its 33 points in the non-conference victory that featured two teams that use Blue Jays as their nickname. Johns Hopkins got a 5-2 win from freshman Henry Stauber at 141 to slice a 9-0 deficit to 9-3 and added a major decision from fellow freshman Matt Fusaro at 157 to pull within 15-7. The win was the fifth straight for Fusaro, who now boasts a team-best 5-1 record on the year. Etown’s Quint Evo then scored a tough 3-1 win over JHU senior co-captain Eric Levenseller at 165 and EC picked up pins at 174 and 184 to put the match away. Sophomore Reid Mosquera scored a 13-4 major decision victory at 197 to account for JHU’s other individual victory in the match. Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, November 20 when the Blue Jays travel to Oneonta State to participate in the Red Dragon Open. #29 Elizabethtown-33, Johns Hopkins-11 (JHU-EC)
