GETTYSBURG, PA - The Johns Hopkins wrestling team closed the dual-meet portion of the 2008-09 season with a pair of losses on Saturday.  The Blue Jays opened with a 37-10 loss to 12th-ranked Kings Point before falling to Stevens, 33-12.

The Blue Jays got victories at 184 and 197 against the highly-ranked Mariners.  Freshman Hector Cintron scored a major decision (12-4) victory against Dan Argast, while senior Tyler Schmidt followed with a forfeit victory to account for JHU's 10 points against the Mariners.

In matches actually wrestled the Blue Jays actually only lost to Stevens 15-12 as JHU forfeited at three weight classes.  Adam Stevens opened with an impressive 11-4 win over Brad Warren at 125.  CIntron and Schmidt accounted for the remainder of the Blue Jays' points as Cintron added a 7-1 win over Vince Termini and Schmidt pinned Valentine Riazanov (2:48).

Cintron ends the regular season with a 25-13 overall record and a 6-1 mark in the Centennial.  Schmidt imprved to 22-9 overall and 6-0 in the Centennial.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, February 21 when the Blue Jays compete at the 2009 Centennial Conference wrestling championships.
