KINGS POINT, NY - The Johns Hopkins wrestling team fell to the US Merchant Marine Academy and Stevens Tech on Saturday in Centennial Conference action. The Blue Jays finish the regular season with a mark of 5-13 overall, 4-3 in conference.

Hopkins dropped a 38-3 decision to the Merchant Marine Academy in its first match. The Mariners won the first five weight classes to take a commanding lead in the match. Freshman Patrick Stanley gave the Blue Jays their lone win in the match at 165-pounds. Stanley recorded a 3-1 decison over Sean Patrick. The Merchant Marine Academy then captured the final four weight classes to close out the match.

Against Stevens Tech, the Ducks won the first three weight classes to jump out to an early lead. Hopkins got its first points on the board at 149-pounds as senior Jim Crumlish was a 7-1 decision winner over Leo Dormann. Stevens Tech picked up the win at 157-pounds before Stanley recorded his second win of the day. This time he was a 5-3 decision winner over Jordan Chalow. The Ducks picked up a pin at 174-pounds. Senior Eric Fishel pinned James Ray in 4:52 at 184-pounds while junior Tyler Schmidt was a 4-0 decision winner against Justin Gatali at 197-pounds. Stevens Tech closed out the match with a decision victory at 285-pounds. The Ducks ended up taking the match from the Blue Jays by a 23-15 score.

Hopkins returns to action on February 23 at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Ursinus. Action is set to get under way at 10 a.m. with Fishel looking to defend his 184-pound title.
