YORK, PA -- The 25th-ranked York wrestling team won the first eight bouts and nine of 10 to knock off visiting Johns Hopkins, 41-3, in non-conference wrestling action Friday evening. The Spartans improve to 10-3, while the Blue Jays slip to 2-6.
The Spartans got two wins by fall, two wins by technical fall and one major decision to go along with a forfeit win at 125 and three decisions.
Johns Hopkins, which was competing without four of its regular starters, picked up its lone win at 197 as sophomore Miles Gilliam scored a 5-4 decision over James Geer.
The Blue Jays will return to action on Saturday, January 21 when they travel to Ursinus to take on Muhlenberg and the host Bears.
