NEW YORK, NY - The Johns Hopkins wrestling team dropped a pair of non-conference wrestling matches Tuesday evening as the Blue Jays fell to Centennary (36-3) and host NYU (21-15). The Blue Jays slip to 0-3 on the year with the losses.

Freshman Reid Mosquera was the only Johns Hopkins wrestler to post a pair of victories as he decisioned Tim Tomasio, 7-5, of Centennary and Sabino Galassi of NYU, 3-2 at 197.

Johns Hopkins won four of the nine matches wrestled against the host Violets and the match score was actually tied, 15-15, in the nine bouts that took place. In addition to Mosquera's victory, the Blue Jays got a pin from freshman Paul Marcello at 133 and wins by decision from juniors Rocky Barilla (141) and Eric Levenseller (165) to account for their four victories.

Johns Hopkins will return to action on Saturday, January 9 when the Blue Jays travel to Ursinus to participate in the North-South duals. The Blue Jays will open with York and also take on Oneonta, Cortland and USMA. Cortland is currently ranked 13th in the nation, while Oneonta is ranked 30th.
