BRIDGEPORT, PA - Johns Hopkins freshman Kielan Crow (Portola Valley, CA/Lick-Wilmerding) has been named the CWPA Southern Division Rookie of the Week for his efforts against George Washington and 12th-ranked Navy last week. This is the first time in his career Crow is being honored and he is the second rookie from JHU to earn the honor this season, joining classmate Alex Whittam (Hillsborough, CA/Sacred Heart Prep).
Crow scored four goals with a pair of assists, an ejection drawn and two steals on the week. Against George Washington, he tallied an assist and two steals with an ejection drawn in JHU's 8-3 victory. Later in the week against Navy, he scored four goals with an assist and an ejection drawn as his five points and four goals marked career highs. Crow ranks fourth on the team in goals (27) and second among rookies. He has a total of 44 points on the season, good for fifth on the team, and 17 assists. Crow also has 38 steals, 14 ejections drawn, two blocks and has scored two five-meter goals.
Hopkins returns to action this weekend at the CWPA Southern Championships. The Blue Jays are seeded fourth and will face fifth-seeded George Washington at 12:45 on Saturday at Bucknell. Hopkins finished third at last season's Southern Championships, a program-best finish.
