BRIDGEPORT, PA - Johns Hopkins water polo senior Ross Schofield has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Division Offensive Player of the Week. The co-captain led the Blue Jays to four wins last week and the program's 14th Division III Eastern Championship. He scored 17 goals and dished seven assists to go along with six steals, 11 ejections drawn and two blocks in a 4-0 week for the Blue Jays.

In the win at George Washington on Wednesday night, Schofield scored four goals to go with a pair of assists and four ejections drawn as the Jays won 16-7 in a key league match. He then opened the DIII Eastern Championship with two goals, two assists, one steal and one ejection drawn in a 23-4 win over Penn State Behrend Saturday morning. Schofield followed that with a six-goal, two-assist performance in the nightcap, while also swiping three steals and drawing four ejections as Hopkins downed Connecticut College 21-6 to advance to the title game.

Schofield wrapped up the tournament with five goals and one assist, two steals, two ejections drawn and two blocks as JHU won its 14th title with a 15-13 win over host MIT. He was named the tournament MVP and earned first team all-tournament honors for his performance. Schofield currently leads the Blue Jays with 91 goals and 141 points. He ranks second with 50 assists and 43 ejections drawn.

Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, October 24 as the Blue Jays wrap up the regular season at Navy. The CWPA league match is set to begin at 3:00 pm.
