Sept. 21, 2009

BRIDGEPORT, PA - Junior goalie Jeremy Selbst (Old Greenwich, CT/Greeenwich) recorded 28 saves with nine steals over four games to lead the Blue Jays to third place at the 2009 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship and earn the September 21 Varsity Southern Division Player of the Week award.

Playing three games at the ECAC Championship at Princeton University and a single division game versus the host Tigers during the stretch of September 18-20, 20th-ranked Hopkins went 2-2 with wins over Bucknell University (11-10) and 16th-ranked Brown University (13-12) and losses to 20th-ranked Princeton (11-5) and 13th-ranked Navy (14-7).

Against Princeton in the Blue Jays' second division game of the year, Selbst made 10 saves with four steals on September 18 before chipping in six saves and a steal against Bucknell in Hopkins' ECAC-opener on September 19. Selbst added six saves and two steals versus Navy before concluding his week with eight saves and two steals in a comeback win over Brown to lead Hopkins to a third place mark at ECACs.
