ARDMORE, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Haverford First Chance Meet this past week. There was no team scoring at the event.

The Blue Jay men were led by junior Rajeev Mahajan, who won the high jump with a mark of 5'10". Freshman Jesse Fulton took eighth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:05.7, while sophomore Dan MacNeil was 11th at a 2:09.8 pace and junior Dave Sebba finished 13th with a time of 2:19.2. Junior Jamie Parks finished 17th in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:18.0, while senior John Apperson was 20th at a 4:20.5 pace.

Freshman Andrea King paced the women on the afternoon, finishing second in the shot put with a mark of 11.37 meters. Senior Mary Stahley also performed well, placing fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:29.2. Sophomores Aline Bernard and Annie Colabella finished ninth and 10th in the 1,500-meter run with times of 5:15.3 and 5:15.5, respectively. Freshman Maureen Kimsey finished close behind in 12th place with a time of 5:20.3.

The Blue Jays break until Sunday, January 13, with the Delaware Open in Newark, Delaware. Hopkins will then participate in the DuCharme Relays on Saturday, January 19 in Dickinson, Pennsylvania.
