Hopkins Finishes Second at Ursinus Indoor Track Classic

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's indoor track and field team opened its season with a second place showing at the Ursinus Indoor Track Classic. The event was won by Cheyney University with 130 points as the Blue Jays finished second with 114 points. Ursinus, Virginia State and Haverford rounded out the top five as the teams finished with 61.5, 47 and 45.5 points respectively.
Sophomore Peter Li (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) set a school record in the shot put as he won the event with a throw of 14.24m. The Blue Jays picked up another win in the one mile run as freshman Noah Jampol (Waban, MA/Newton North) crossed the line in 4:38.72. The Blue Jays swept the top four spots in that event.
Hopkins had success in the 3000 meter run as the Blue Jays claimed places two through six in the event highlighted by James Bronson (Santa Anna, CA/Foothill) finished second with a time of 9:10.44.
The Blue Jays will be back in action on January 12th when they travel to New York to take part in the Gotham Cup.
