SPRINGFIELD, MA - Senior Patrick Brandon (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) and freshman Steve Tobochnik (Kalamazoo, MI/Loy Norrix) medaled in the 5,000-meter run for Johns Hopkins at last weekend's ECAC Division III Track & Field Championships at Springfield College.
Brandon took the silver in the 5,000-meter with a season-best time of 14:59.92, just 1:27 off the winning time. Tobochnik finished with the bronze and a time of 15:03.15. That bests the Hopkins freshmen record of 15:16.11, a record he originally broke at the Widener Invitational on April 19.
Junior Adam Waddell (Altoona, PA/Altoona) competed in the decathlon but was forced to withdraw due to injury with three events to go. Waddell had accumulated 4,376 points through seven events.
