LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Adam Waddell broke the school record as he dominated the decathlon at the Centennial Conference championships for the Johns Hopkins men's track & field team in Lancaster, Pa. Saturday. Waddell won eight of the 10 decathlon events to score 6,450 points to break the school and meet records. Waddell is now the fifth-best decathlete in the country with his score today.

Andrew Yen was the top JHU finisher in the 10,000 meter at 33:48.01 before junior Dave Sigmon took fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, clocking in at 9:42.47.

Waddell came in second in the pole vault at 4.59 meters. Freshman Matt Stankiewicz placed 11th in the long jump at 5.79 meters as the top Blue Jay in the event.

The Blue Jays landed three qualifying spots in the 110 meter hurdles. Jacob Kramer placed second in the preliminaries at 15.70 and Dan White and Jordan Litner came in sixth and seventh to earn the right to compete in Sunday's final. Kramer will represent JHU in the 400 hurdle final as well.

Senior Peter Li and freshman Lucas Sand placed fourth and fifth in the discus with 42.68 meter and 40.91 meter throws, respectively.

James Walker qualified for the 400 meter final in seventh place at 50.90. Jonathan Walker, on the other hand, would qualify for the men's 100 meter dash finals in a time of 11.48. Elliott Wehner also qualified in the 800 meter, coming in sixth at 1:55.70.

The Blue Jays finished day two in fourth place with 39 points behind Dickinson (70), Haverford (63.50) and Gettysburg (44.50). JHU has one more day of competition remaining in the Centennial Conference Championships.
