Hopkins Finishes Third at Home Meet

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's outdoor track and field team captured with a third place finish at the Hopkins/Loyola Invite, totaling 89 points.

Andrew Bartnett notched another first-place finish in the pole vault, as he vaulted 5.00m (16-4.75), earning 10 points for the Blue Jays. Alex Kossak finished third with a 3.96m (12-11.75) mark, while Paul Vozzo was sixth.

Tom Boucher added eight more points to the Jays total with a 51.48m (168-11.00) mark in the javelin. Meanwhile, in the discus, Mitchell Keller posted a mark of 40.19m (131-10.50). Zach Jacobson finished in sixth, earning three more points for the Jays.

In the 5000 meter run, Andrew Ceruzzi, Louis Levine and Geoffrey Kazlow finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively, collecting six total points for the Jays.

Tom Pavarini finished seventh in the 1500 meter run, posting a time of 4:05.51 and earning two points for his team. In the 800 meter event, Trevor Holmgren finished second with a time of 1:54.68 on his way to earning two points. Sam Gottuso finished fifth in the event with a time of 1:57.25.



Austin Stecklair collected the lone win in the track events for the Jays, as he finished with a time of 9:52.59 in the 3000 meter steeple event.
