Hopkins Men's Track and Field Runs Away With Title at Goucher Invitational
TOWSON, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team won the Goucher Invitational on Saturday, as it totaled 283 points.
Brandon Fielder finished first in the 800 meter run, and the Jays occupied stops the next six spots, as well. Hopkins finished with the top-eight guys in the 1500 meter run, led by Andrew Ceruzzi's 4:09.25.
Competing in his first outdoor 3000 meter, Chris Corbett finished first with a time of 9:35.03. Hopkins also took the top spot in the 110 meter hurdles, as freshman Matt Fischetti finished first and Bradley Viles took fourth. Pontani took the top spot in the 400 hurdles, while Shelley took second.
In the field events, the Blue Jays put together an outstanding showing, taking first in the high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, discus throw and javelin throw.
