Hopkins Competes at the Widener Pentathlon

CHESTER, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field competed at the Widener Pentathlon on Saturday afternoon in Chester, PA. The Blue Jays had several first place finishes on the day to highlight a strong showing in the competition.
Sophomore Adam Waddell had an impressive showing in several different events on Saturday. Waddell captured first place in the high jump with a 6'2 leap. Waddell also qualified for the ECAC Championships with a 4.26m result in the pole vault, which was tied for second at yesterday's meet. He also finished second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.
The Blue Jays captured eight of the top nine spots in the 3,000 meter run led by Geoff Nunns who finished first in the event with a time of 9:19.8. Nunns' was followed across the line by teammate Nate Sotuyo who completed the race in 9:31.4 and Dan Pike who was third with a time of 9:34.6.
Chuck de los Reyes was third in the 55m dash on Saturday with a time of 6.87. Ryan Tang finished third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.65. In the shot put it was Peter Li claiming a third place finish with a throw of 14.46m.
Hopkins returns to action next on February 24th and 25th when it competes at the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Haverford.
