BOSTON, MA - The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team competed at the St. Valentine Invitational in Boston on Friday. The Blue Jays had several runners put up strong showings, highlighted by Patrick Brandon in the 5,000 meter run.

Brandon finished 42nd in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:20.05. Brandon breaks the school record and qualifies for the ECAC Championships with his time. Brandon's teammate Andrew Lewis finished 70th in the event, crossing the line in a time of 15:47.25.

Matt Trachtenburg finished tied for 19th in the pole vault with a leap of 3.90m while the 4x400 relay team was 18th with a time of 3:27.07. The relay team of Jason Dubyoski, Jordan Litner, Chris Tait and James Walker broke the school record and qualified for the ECAC Championships with their time. With a time of 50.07, James Walker finished 45th in the 400 meter dash. Walker sets a new school and freshman record in that event. Noah Jampol was 72nd in the 1 mile run, crossing the line in a time of 4:25.33. Jampol also set a new school and freshman record in his event.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on February 24th and 25th at the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships.
