Hopkins Men Put Together Solid Performance at Ramapo Select
NEW YORK CITY, NY - The Johns Hopkins men's indoor track and field team put together a solid performance at the Ramapo College Select Meet, en route to a fifth place finish.
In the One Mile Run, the Blue Jays got strong performances from sophomore Stefan Arnold and freshman Brandon Fielder. Arnold competed for the first time in his indoor career in the mile, posting a solid time of 4:26.71 en route to a sixth place finish. Fielder, meanwhile, posted a personal-record time of 4:28.94 on his way to a seventh place finish.
Pole vaulter Andrew Bartnett finished second in competition as he cleared 4.90m (16-00.75).
Akshay Alaghatta had a fantastic showing in the 5000-meter run, setting a personal-indoor-record in his second place finish. Alaghatta finished the race with a time of 15:37.63, besting his previous career-best by two seconds. Teammate Louis Levine also had a strong showing in the event, finishing third with a career-best time of 15:39.47.
Ryan Walsh showed off his skill in the High Jump, as he cleared 1.98m (6-6) in his fifth place finish.
