MORGANTOWN, WV - The Johns Hopkins men's and women's indoor track & field teams participated in the West Virginia University Invitational this past weekend. In a small field of competitors, the women faced West Virginia University and Hagerstown Community College, while the men faced West Virginia, Penn State University and Hagerstown Community College.

On the men's side, senior Quinlan Amos set a Hopkins indoor record and finished fourth in the 60-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 6.95. He broke his own mark of 7.13 set last season. Amos also hit the provisional time for the NCAA championships and is currently third in the nation in the 60-meter dash. In the finals, he took sixth place with a time of 7.24. Amos also competed in the 200-meter dash and placed seventh at a 25.01 pace. Freshman Sean Morgan finished eighth in the 200 with a time of 25.04.

Junior Daniel MacNeil was ninth and senior Jamie Parks finished 10th in the 1,000-meter run with times of 2:53.10 and 2:54.40, respectively. Freshmen John Stowe and Jonathan Berke placed seventh and eighth in the shot put with throws of 10.82 meters and 9.66 meters, respectively.

Seniors Nikki Gross and Jackie Evans performed well for the women in the 500-meter run and the shot put. Gross finished second in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:30.00, while Evans recorded a mark of 10.0 meters to place second in the shot put.

Freshman Ilolochika Emuh was third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.54, while sophomore Maureen Kimsey placed third in the mile run at a 5:53.00 pace.

The Blue Jays return to action Sunday, January 19 as Hopkins travels to Newark, Delaware for the Delaware Open.
