Hopkins Indoor Track and Field Team Competes at Father Diamond Meet

FAIRFAX, VA - The Johns Hopkins men's and women's indoor track and field team competed Saturday at the Father Diamond meet, hosted by George Mason University. Competing against a field of some Division I schools, the Jays proved to hold their own.

Andrew Carey led the Blue Jays with a second place finish in the 800 meter run, timing out at 1:53.26.

Meanwhile, in the One Mile run, freshman Charles Thornton finished with a time of 4:34.28. Sophomore Andrew Bartnett pole vaulted a 4.9 meter.

On the women's side, Caroline Smith finished the 800 meter race with a time of 2:24.61.

Frances Loeb finished second in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:49.32. Meanwhile, freshman Bridget Gottlieb finished sixth with a time of 10:13.67.

Freshman Jenn Su had good performances in the long jump and shot put. Su jumped 16-8.50 and shot putted 39.3-75.
