Hopkins Falls To Loyola, 6-1, In Men's Tennis March 22, 2004 Baltimore, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's tennis team opened its 2003 fall season with a 6-1 loss at Loyola Wednesday. Sophomore Krishna Potarazu (Potomac, MD/Wootton) posted the lone win for the Blue Jays, as he defeated Dan Schiemel 7-6 (1), 7-5 at No. 2 singles. John Laramie defeated senior Justin Chan (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes) 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, Nick Bowers topped senior Grant Roch (Cedarburg, WI/Cedarburg) 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3, and Adam Wessinger needed a tiebreaker to outlast sophomore Michael Kelly-Sell (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) 2-6, 7-5 (11-9) at No. 4. Jon Falcichio defeated freshman Nick Kennedy (Tucson, AZ/Deerfield Academy) 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5, and John Curren topped senior Aaron Ong (Florence, KY/Boone County) 6-3, 2-6 (7-3) at No. 6. The Greyhounds also took all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Schiemel and Bowers posted a narrow 8-7 win over Potarazu and Kennedy at No. 1, Laramie and Wessinger defeated Kelly-Sell and Roch 8-4 at No. 2, and Falcichio and Curren topped Chan and freshman Andrew Chang (Norato, CA/San Francisco University), 8-4, at No. 3.
