CLAREMONT, CA - Johns Hopkins men's tennis sophomore Andrew Wang (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) fell in three sets to seventh-ranked Ben Stein on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship. He is the first player in program history to advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship.

Wang, who earned All-America honors by virtue of his first round win on Friday, took the first set from Stein, 6-2. The second set was much more competitive as the two were tied at 3-3, 5-5 and 6-6 before Stein won in a tiebreaker. Stein then took the match with a 6-0 win in the third set. Wang finishes the season with a record of 22-4, which included a school-record 15-match win streak earlier this season. A First Team All-Centennial Conference selection in both singles and doubles, he also earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles this season. Wang is now 42-11 in singles and 41-16 in doubles for his career. He already ranks in the top five in school history in singles wins, doubles wins and total wins (83).
