Men's Tennis Advances with 4-3 win over Haverford

CHESTERTOWN - Third-seeded Johns Hopkins knocked off second-seeded Haverford, 4-3, in a tight Centennial Conference men's tennis semifinal match on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Washington College. With the win, Hopkins advances to face Washington College on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The top-seeded Shoremen cruised past Dickinson, 6-1, in the afternoon's first matchup. The Blue Jays and Fords split the singles matches with three wins a piece, with Hopkins wins coming in the #3-5 singles bouts. But Hopkins claimed the #2 and #3 doubles tilts, giving them the edge and the win. Johns Hopkins, the region's eighth-seeded team, advances to the conference championship with an 11-7 record.
