SALISBURY, MD - The 13th-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team rolled to its ninth straight win on Sunday with an 8-1 win at Salisbury. The Blue Jays improve to 10-3 on the season as they head into the final two weeks of the regular season. The Sea Gulls suffer their second straight loss and fall to 10-6 on the season.

Hopkins opened the match by sweeping doubles to take an early 3-0 lead. At first, freshman Jacob Barnaby (Phoenix, AZ/Desert Vista) and sophomore Casey Blythe (Louisville, KY/Saint Xavier) beat Scott Burtzlaff and Evan Thomas 8-6 to improve to 14-3 on the season. Junior David Maldow (Jericho, NY/Jericho) picked up a milestone win at second, as he and sophomore Andrew Wang (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) won 8-3 over Daniel Barnas and Andrew Nottage. The win was Maldow's 45th career doubles win and 100th total win (55 singles, 45 doubles). He is just the third player in program history to reach the century mark in wins. Freshman Warren Elgort (New York, NY/Trinity School) and sophomore Ryan Rauck (Columbus, OH/Bexley) won 8-2 at third over Giorgio Athans and Sasha Felikson.

In singles action, Maldow won his ninth straight and improved to 4-0 this season in three-set matches. Burtzlaff won the first set, 6-2. But Maldow responded to win the second (6-4) and third (6-2) to take the match. Wang then ran his win streak to 11 straight with his team-best 16th win of the season. He beat Thomas in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, at two. Elgort dropped a three-set match at third to David Lupinetti.
