The Washington College men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches to defeat Johns Hopkins, 6-1, Tuesday afternoon.
Pete Taylor and Asfand Farouk defeated senior Justin Chan (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Mountain Lakes) and junior Justin Belisario (Los Angeles, CA/Loyola) 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Arturo Solis and Vivian Chhetri topped sophomore Krishna Potarazu (Potomac, MD/Wootton) and freshman Nick Kennedy (Tucson, AZ/Deerfield Academy) 8-4 at No. 2. Maciek Prytula and Tim Riskie posted an 8-4 victory over sophomore Michael Kelly-Sell (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer) and senior Grant Roch (Cedarburg, WI/Cedarburg) at No. 3 doubles for the Shoremen.
Freshman Andrew Chang (Norato, CA/San Francisco University) was the lone singles winner for the Blue Jays, as he defeated Riskie 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6. Taylor shut out Belisario 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, Chhetri posted a 6-3, 7-5 win over Potarazu at No. 2, and Solis was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Roch at No. 3. Farouk defeated Kennedy 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4, while Prytula topped senior Aaron Ong (Florence, KY/Boone County) 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5.
Hopkins, which fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference, travels to Franklin & Marshall Saturday at 1 p.m.
