Tang Named Bluegrass Mountain Co-Swimmer of the Week
Oct. 30, 2012
BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins freshman swimmer Justin Tang wasted little time in adding his name to the men's swimming record book. In just the second meet of his career, he broke the pool record in the 400 IM as Hopkins defeated Franklin & Marshall, 205.5-56.5. For his performance, Tang was named the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Co-Swimmer of the Week. Tang opened the meet with a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay as his team finished in 1:36.10, with him swimming a 25.15 split in the 50 Back. He then placed second in the 50 Breast with a time in 27.68. Tang wrapped up the day with a win in the 400 IM, touching the wall in 4:02.55. He won the relay by more than 16 seconds and bested the seven-year-old pool record by more than six seconds. Hopkins is back in action this Friday and Saturday at Loyola's annual Thomas Murphy Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm on Friday, November 2.
