SOMERS, WI - Sophomore Colin Kleinguetl (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood) earned Division III National Swimmer of the Week honors Tuesday as announced by CollegeSwimming.com. Kleinguetl along with five other swimmers were honored for their performances from October 8-22.

The Johns Hopkins men's swim team opened its season against Division I Navy on Saturday. Kleinguetl posted some impressive swims in the Blue Jays first meet of the season. Against the Midshipmen, he claimed a victory in the 800 Free (8:40.69) by 0.20 seconds. He cruised on to a second place finish in the 200 Fly (2:11.93) and a fifth place finish in the 400 Free.

Despite Kleinguetl's efforts, the Blue Jays (0-1) suffered a 169.5-101.5 loss at Lejeune Hall to the tough Mids (4-0). The Blue Jays won five of 16 events at the meet. Hopkins returns to action on Friday, October 27 in College Park as the Blue Jays take on the Maryland Terrapins. On Saturday, Hopkins hosts Franklin & Marshall in the Newton White Athletic Center.
