BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins men's and women's swimming coach George Kennedy and junior John Thomas (Montrose, CO/Montrose) are featured in the August issue of Swimming World magazine.

The monthly Q&A feature in the Swimming Technique section highlights Kennedy as he shares his insights on training approaches. In this interview, he talks about topics such as why his teams swim against Division I NCAA schools, the role of strength and conditioning and holiday training. Kennedy recently completed his 23rd season at Hopkins in which he guided the men's program to a runner-up finish at the 2008 NCAA Championship.

The How They Train component of this piece focuses on Thomas, winner of the 200 Back at last year's NCAA Championship. Kennedy outlines a week of workouts, which Thomas completes during the season. Readers will be able to readily see Kennedy's applied training philosophies throughout the How They Train section.
