BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins University men's swimming team has been honored for its work in the classroom. The Blue Jays have earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for both the fall and spring semesters. JHU posted a team GPA of 3.28 in the fall and 3.45 for the spring. JHU posted the fourth highest spring GPA for Division III.

In addition, seniors John Kegelman (Yorktown, VA/Tabb), David Postetter (Kenmore, WA/Inglemoor) and Bob Sershon (Chicago, IL/St. Patrick), junior Spiros Moisiades (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) and freshman Stephen Niemiec (Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester Adams) were named Scholar All-Americans.

To qualify, as a Scholar All-American, a student-athlete must have completed at least the equivalent of 12 semester hours per term, must qualify to participate at the NCAA, NAIA or JC Swimming and Diving Championships and must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible: a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale, a semester/quarter GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale or a school year GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.00 scale.
