BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's swim team will send nine swimmers to the 2012 NCAA Championship March 21-24 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, IN. Leading the way for the Blue Jays is senior Timothy Nam, who will make his fourth straight trip to the NCAA Championship. Hopkins finished in ninth place at last year's championship, the 23rd top-10 finish for the Blue Jays under head coach George Kennedy.

Nam, a four-time All-American, will swim three events for the Blue Jays. He will swim on the 200 and 400 Medley Relays as well as the 200 Breast. His qualifying time for the 200 Breast, 2:03.01, is the sixth fastest in school history in the event. Junior Dylan Coggin will swim five events in his second NCAA Championship appearance. He will compete in the 100 Free as well as the three freestyle relays and the 400 Medley Relay. He tied the school record in the 100 Free (44.64) and has the fourth fastest time in Division III this season.

Sophomore Anthony Lordi will swim five events as well after earning six All-America honors at last year's NCAA Championship. He will swim the 200 Free as well as the three freestyle relays and the 200 Medley Relay. In the 200 Free, his qualifying time (1:39.57) is the fourth fastest in school history and the ninth fastest in Division III this season. Junior Nicholas Schmidt, a six-time All-American, will compete in four events in Indianapolis. He will swim the 100 and 200 Fly, the 800 Free Relay as well as the 400 Medley Relay. His time of 1:50.97 in the 200 Fly, not only qualified him for NCAAs, but it is also the sixth fastest in school history.

Swimming two events each will be juniors Carter Gisriel and Tyler Woods, sophomore Joe Acquaviva and freshman Dylan Davis. Gisriel is a three-time All-American and will compete in the 200 Free and 200 Medley Relays. Woods is making his second NCAA appearance and is looking to add to his three career All-America honors. He will swim the 200 and 400 Free Relays. Acquaviva, who earned four All-America honors last season, will compete in the 400 Free and 200 Medley Relays. Davis will make his first NCAA appearance and will compete in the 200 Back and the 400 Medley Relay. He qualified for the 200 Back with a time of 1:49.17, the seventh fastest time in school history and the 10th fastest in Division III this season. Rounding out the Blue Jays' selections is sophomore Will Kimball, who will swim on the 800 Free Relay team. It is the same event he earned All-America honors in last season.
