OXFORD, OH - After the first night of competition at the 2005 Miami University Invitational, two Johns Hopkins relay teams finished in the top 10 of their events with NCAA B-cut qualifying times. The Blue Jay men are in 10th place and the women are in 11th place after four events.

In the first event of the three-day meet, senior Carly Benner, junior Allie Foster, senior Katie Herbst, and freshman Kristin Cunningham placed ninth in the 800 freestyle relay with a B-cut time of 7:46.79. The men's 800 freestyle relay team of sophomore Brad Test, junior Richard Guerard, freshman Kyle Foust, and junior David Strickland also earned a B-cut time with a 6:51.46 finish, good for fifth place.

The other two events on Thursday night were the 1650 men's and women's freestyle races. Senior Stephanie Leaman placed 18th in the women's event with a time of 18:15.27.
