Pittsburgh, PA - The Johns Hopkins men's swimming team continues to lead the ECAC Championships as the Blue Jays have totaled 307.5 points through the first two days.

Junior J.P. Balfour (Plano, TX/Plano East) began the day by finishing third in the 400 individual medley in 4:05.74, while freshman Derek Monette (Templeton, MA/Gardner) was 12th in 4:10.39 and freshman Keith Parent (Amherst, MA/Amherst Regional) came in 13th in 4:11.93.

Sophomore Sean Kim (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) then placed fifth in the 100 butterfly in 51.24, while freshman Mark Remaly (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) was eighth in 52.04 and senior Matt McKee (Rocky River, OH/St. Edward) finished 13th in 52.16.
 

 

After freshman David Strickland (Houston, TX/Strake Jesuit College Prep) finished 16th in the 200 freestyle in 1:45.36, senior Loren Robinson (Coats, NC/Triton) was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 58.01 while senior Scott Pitz (Paoli, PA/Conestoga) placed fifth in 58.08. Sophomore Zane Hamilton (Chattanooga, TN/McCallie) finished seventh in 58.91 in the 100 breaststroke, and sophomore Tyler Harris (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) came in 12th in 58.95.

The 800 freestyle relay team of Hamilton, junior Paul Zalewski (St. Louis, MO/Kirkwood), sophomore Brian Sneed (Chattanooga, TN/McCallie) and Robinson concluded the day by finishing third in 6:55.73.

The championships conclude on Sunday.
