CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Johns Hopkins men's swimming team finished fourth at the 2007 ECAC Conference Championships Sunday. The Blue Jays accumulated 378 points, while Harvard claimed the title with 513 points.
Sophomore Brad Test (Dresher, PA/Germantown Academy) swam to a first place finish in the 50 Free with a time of 20.92. The Blue Jays followed that with a win in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:25.79. Freshman John Thomas (Montrose, CO/Montrose) swam the first leg, followed by sophomore Jon Kegelman (Yorktown, VA/Tabb), senior Keith Parent (Amherst, MA/Amherst Regional) and Test.
Hopkins opened the second day of competition with a win in the 200 Medley Relay. Thomas, Kegelman, freshman Spiros Moisiades (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) and Test swam the relay in 1:33.77. Sophomore Colin Kleinguetl (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood) finished seventh in the 400 IM with a season-best time of 4:08.03. Moisiades then took seventh in the 100 Fly in 52.00.
Junior Matt Fedderly (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh School) swam to a second-place finish in the 100 Breast in 57.76. Kegelman followed in third place with a time of 58.49 - a season-best time. Thomas took fifth in the 100 Back with a time of 52.13. Senior Kevin Walsh (Athens, GA/Cedar Shoals) followed in eighth with a time of 53.42. The Blue Jays then took sixth in the 800 Free Relay with a time of 7:00.17. Freshmen AJ Blood (McClean, VA/Sidwell Friends), James Neuwirth (Ross, CA/Phillips Academy Andover), Teddy Bulakul (Bangakok, Thailand/Hotchkiss) and sophomore David Postetter (Kenmore, WA/Inglemoor) all swam the relay.

In day three, Kleinguetl took fourth in the 1650 Free in a time of 16:11.17. Postetter then took 11th with a time of 16:34.56. Kegelman followed with a second-place finish in the 200 Breast in 2:07.40. Hopkins closed out the championships with a second-place finish in the 400 Free Relay in a time of 3:05.04. Test, Thomas, Fedderly and Walsh all swam the relay for the Blue Jays.
Hopkins returns to the pool March 15-17 at the NCAA Championships in Houston, TX. The Blue Jays finished fourth at the 2006 NCAA Championships.
