CHAPEL HILL, NC - The 22nd-ranked University of North Carolina men's swimming team picked up 12 first-place fnishes in 16 events to fuel a 153-101 victory over visiting Johns Hopkins Wednesday afternoon. The win was the 500th in program history for the Tar Heels, who run their record to 5-3 with the win. Johns Hopkins slips to 6-2 with the loss.

Johns Hopkins, which has lost only to Division I opponents this season, picked up four first-place finishes in the meet. Sophomore Matt Chana (Northbrook, IL/Glenbrook North) won the 1000 free with a time of 9:37.08, while classmate Brian Sneed (Chattanooga, TN/McCallie) won the 500 free with a time of 4:45.32. Chana added a second-place finish in the 500 free as he clocked in at 4:46.29.

Senior Scott Pitz (Paoli, PA/Conestoga) and sophomore Tyler Harris (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) added the other individual victories for the Blue Jays. Pitz easily won the 200 breast (2:09.22), while Harris clocked in at 58.90 to win the 100 breast.
