BALTIMORE, MD - Johns Hopkins senior Ben McAbee (Hagerstown, MD/North Hagerstown) and junior Matty Carlson (Bristol, CT/Loomis Chaffee) have been named to the NSCAA All-America team. Carlson earned first team honors while McAbee was named to the second team for the second consecutive season. That brings the program's total to 22 NSCAA All-America honors including 13 under head coach Matt Smith.

Carlson, a two-time All-Centennial selection, started 21 games as a defensive midfielder in 2007. He scored two goals and tallied two assists with one game-winning goal. In three seasons, Carlson has tallied seven goals and three assists for 17 points. A two-time captain, he also excels in the classroom. He has twice been named to the Centennial Academic Honor Roll and in 2007 was a Second Team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District selection.

McAbee earned All-Centennial honors in three of his four seasons and is now just the third player in school history to earn NSCAA All-America honors twice. In 2007, he scored four goals and added seven assists for 15 points in 18 games. His seven assists were tied for second on the team. McAbee finished his career with 55 points on 20 goals and 19 assists. In program history, he ranks 16th in points, tied for 19th in goals and tied for 10th in assists. He was also named a First Team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District selection this season.

Johns Hopkins won its unprecedented seventh Centennial Conference title in 2007 and second consecutive. The Blue Jays posted an 18-4-0 record while advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It was Hopkins' 11th NCAA appearance and ninth under Smith. The Blue Jays' 18 wins fell just one shy of the program record, set by last year's 19-2-2 squad.
