Doran, Kitzen, and Williams Named To Mid-Atlantic All-Region Teams Dec. 6, 2001 Baltimore, MD - Johns Hopkins men's soccer seniors Matthew Doran (Stormville, NY/John Jay), Ryan Kitzen (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa), and Aerik Williams (Columbus, OH/Columbus Academy) were named to the NSCAA/adidas Mid-Atlantic All-Region teams announced Thursday. Doran and Kitzen were named to the first team, while Williams was a third team selection. Doran, who was a Third Team South Atlantic Region selection in 1999 and a first team selection last season, led the Blue Jays this season with 18 goals and 49 points. The senior forward finished his career with 70 goals and 168 points, both ranking him second on the JHU career lists. Kitzen, who earned Third Team All-South Atlantic Region honors as a sophomore and second team honors last year, recorded nine goals and an assist this season while playing the center midfield position for the Blue Jays. Williams, a Second Team All-South Atlantic Region selection as a junior, tied for the team lead with 13 assists and finished third with 21 points in 2001. Williams finished his career with 40 assists, easily surpassing the previous record of 28. All three players were selected to the Centennial Conference First Team last month. The Blue Jays finished the 2001 season 17-3, including a perfect 9-0 in the conference, and captured the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship.
