Johns Hopkins to Travel to Ithaca for NCAA First Round Game

BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team will travel to Ithaca for an NCAA Tournament First Round game on Thursday, Nov. 13. The Blue Jays (12-5-3) are making their third consecutive and 12th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Game time at Carp Wood Field in Ithaca, NY is scheduled for 1:00 pm. Hopkins earned an at-large bid after finishing as the runner-up in the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Blue Jays advanced to the title game for the sixth time in the eight-year history of the tournament, falling 1-0 to the Garnet of Swarthmore. Hopkins is 11-12-2 all-time in 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a 1-1 showing in 2007. JHU beat DeSales 1-0 in the first round before falling to NC Wesleyan 2-0 in the second round at home. Ithaca (11-4-3) also earned an at-large bid after falling in the finals of the Empire 8 Tournament to Stevens Tech. The Bombers are making their 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2002. Thursday's game will be the first ever meeting between Hopkins and Ithaca. The winner will advance to the second round, traveling to York College. Ticket prices for the game, as set by the NCAA, will be $6 general admission, $3 for students with ID and senior citizens and $2 for children under 12.
