LANCASTER, PA - Seniors John Scheuch (Ridgewood, NJ/Delbarton School) and Ravi Gill (Morganville, NJ/Marlboro) have been honored by the Centennial Conference for their roles in leading Johns Hopkins to its eighth Men's Soccer Centennial Conference title. Scheuch earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Gill was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Scheuch had one career goal entering this weekend's Centennial Conference tournament, but scored a goal in each game to help the Blue Jays to their third title in the last four years. Scheuch scored the game's only goal in the 34th minute of the semifinals as JHU shut out 10th-ranked Swarthmore, 1-0. In the championship game against Dickinson, he scored in the 22nd minute to tie the game at 1-1. Hopkins would go on to win, 2-1, on senior Max Venker's (Oldsmar, FL/Palm Harbor University High) penalty kick in the 58th minute. This is the first time Scheuch is being honored by the conference.

Gill stopped seven of the eight shots he faced in helping JHU to the Centennial Conference title. He made a pair of saves in handing 10th-ranked Swarthmore just its second loss of the season. It was his 10th shutout of the season, which is tied for the third most in a single-season in program history. The following night, he made five saves while allowing just one goal as JHU defeated Dickinson, 2-1. This is the fourth time this season that Gill has been named the conference's defensive player of the week.

Hopkins earned the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament and will travel to Salisbury for the first and second rounds. JHU drew Misericordia in the first round. Details about this weekend's games will be released later today.
