A Look Back: Johns Hopkins extended its unbeaten streak to five straight with back-to-back shutouts at Neumann and Haverford.
On Wednesday, Hopkins beat Neumann 4-0 in the first ever meeting between the two programs. Junior Max Venker led the Blue Jays with a pair of goals, while juniors Matt Mierley and Ravi Gill shared the netminding duties.
On Saturday, Hopkins got back into Centennial Conference action at Haverford. Sophomore Scott Bukoski and senior Matty Carlson provided the offense and Mierley made five saves to post the shutout.

The Week Ahead: Hopkins returns home for a pair of Centennial Conference match-ups this week. On Wednesday, rival McDaniel visits Homewood Field for the 76th meeting in the series that dates back to 1935. The Blue Jays have won the last two meetings and are unbeaten in the last 18.
Muhlenberg visits Homewood on Saturday evening in match-up of the two winningest programs in conference history. The two programs have combined to win 12 of the 15 Centennial Conference titles (JHU-7, MC-5). Saturday’s game will be the 25th meeting between the two, with Hopkins holding a slight edge in the series (13-10-1).

At the Helm: Head coach Craig Appleby is in his first season at Johns Hopkins and carries an 8-2-1 record with the Blue Jays. Appleby came to JHU after spending six seasons as the head coach of Emory & Henry.

Twenty-One: Head coach Craig Appleby boasts an 8-1-2 (.818) record through his first 11 games. He is the first coach since 1987 and just the second ever to boast a win percentage of .700 or better through their first 11 games as head coach.

On the Move: Senior Nick Gauna enters this week ranked ninth in Johns Hopkins history with 76 career points. He is two points shy of moving into a tie with Ryan Kitzen for eighth all-time. Gauna is also tied for 15th with 26 career goals and fourth with 24 career assists.
Scott Bukoski is also making his mark on the record book. The sophomore already ranks in the top-15 in career points and goals. He ranks 13th with 68 points and tied for eighth with 29 goals. Last season, he became just the fifth player in program history to score 20 or more goals in one season.

Spreading the Wealth: In their 11 games so far this season, nine different Blue Jays have scored a goal and 13 different players have tallied a point.

Leading the Way: Sophomore forward Scott Bukoski continues to lead the Centennial Conference in eight of the nine offensive categories, including points (22), goals (9) and game-winning goals (4). Hopkins leads the Centennial Conference in all six team offensive categories, including points (70), goals (25) and assists (20).

Preseason Favorite: The Blue Jays were favored to win their eighth Centennial Conference title in the 2008 Centennial Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Hopkins picked up 77 points with seven first-place votes. The Blue Jays have been the preseason favorite for six straight years, dating back to the 2003 preseason coaches poll.
