Johns Hopkins Men's Soccer Concludes Regular Season With 3-2 Win Over F&M Oct. 27, 2001
Baltimore, MD - Chad Tarabolous (Tulsa, OK/Cascia Hall) recorded two assists and three different Blue Jays scored as the Johns Hopkins men's soccer team defeated Franklin & Marshall, 3-2, Saturday night at Homewood Field. The Blue Jays finished the regular season 15-2 and 9-0 in the Centennial Conference, and will host the conference tournament November 2-3. Hopkins will play No. 4 seed Gettysburg at 5 p.m. Friday, while No. 2 seed Western Maryland and No. 3 seed Muhlenberg will play at 7:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. The winner of the tournament receives a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Adam Hack (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) gave Hopkins the early lead by scoring an unassisted goal just 5:11 into the match. Mike Poston (Nashua, NH/Nashua Senior) headed home a cross from Tarabolous in the 40th minute to give the Blue Jays a two-goal halftime lead. Michael Cordeiro (Easton, MD/St. Andrews-DE) scored off a pass from Tarabolous just 2:34 into the second half to put Hopkins ahead, 3-0. Scott Runyon scored unassisted goals in the 59th and 82nd minutes to close the scoring. Runyon's two goals were the first goals allowed by Hopkins in a conference game this season.
