WESTMINSTER, MD - Sophomore Danny Reategui scored the game's only goal to lift visiting Johns Hopkins to a 1-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference action Wednesday afternoon. The win keeps the Blue Jays' playoff hopes alive as they improve to 4-3-1 in the conference and now have 13 points to move into fourth place with three games still to play tonight. The Green Terror fall to 1-7 in the league and 5-10-1 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Reategui finally ended the drought in the 52nd minute with his second of the season. He dribbled down the left wing and fired a shot on that hit off the fingers of Green Terror goalie Zach Nibbelink and into the left side. The Blue Jays picked up their pressure in the ensuing eight minutes, getting off five shots and forcing Nibbelink to make three straight saves. McDaniel survived the blitz and nearly pulled the game even in the 89th minute when Spencer Phillips floated a shot over sophomore Nick Cerrone, but it hit the crossbar. Hopkins cleared the ball and got one more shot off, saved by Nibbelink, to take the win.

Cerrone finished with three saves to earn the win, while Nibbelink made six in the loss. Hopkins had a 16-9 advantage in shots while each team had just one corner.

Hopkins closes out the regular season on Saturday night as the Blue Jays travel to the Eastern Shore to take on Washington College. Game time at Kibler Field is set for 7:00 pm.
