Pomona, NJ - Greg Ruttler and Dave Mattus each scored a goal and an assist to lead the No. 18 Richard Stockton men's soccer team over No. 11 Johns Hopkins Wednesday evening. With the match tied at two in the 79th minute, Mattus found Jeff Moore, who beat Hopkins goalkeeper Gary Kane, Jr. (Lansdale, PA/LaSalle College) for the game-winner. Mattus gave the Ospreys a two-goal lead when he scored the final goal of the game with 10:05 remaining. Ruttler opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he scored off a rebound of a blocked shot. Richard Stockton carried the 1-0 lead into the 64th minute until Hopkins forward Matthew Doran (Stormville, NY/John Jay) scored his team-leading 14th goal of the season on a penalty kick.
The Ospreys regained the lead less than four minutes later when Ralph Maione scored off an assist from Ruttler to make the score 2-1. However, Matt Weill (Merrick, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) scored off a corner kick by Aerik Williams (Columbus, OH/Columbus Academy) to tie the match just two minutes later.
