Blue Jays Shut Out Western Maryland, 3-0, In Men's Soccer Sept. 19, 2001
Junior Adam Hack (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) scored a goal and assisted on another as the Johns Hopkins men's soccer team defeated Western Maryland, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon at Homewood Field. Aerik Williams (Columbus, OH/Columbus Academy) got the Blue Jays on the board in the 22nd minute by scoring inside the box off a pass from Ryan Kitzen (Massapequa, Park, NY/Massapequa). Just three and a half minutes later, Hack scored off a feed from Chad Tarabolous (Tulsa, OK/Cascia Hall) to give Hopkins a two-goal lead. Matthew Doran (Stormville, NY/John Jay) scored the final goal in the 42nd minute off a pass from Hack. The Blue Jay defense would make the lead stand up, limiting the Green Terror to just one shot on goal. Hopkins has now won nine in a row against Western Maryland and 13 straight Centennial Conference matches. The Blue Jays will host Ursinus at Homewood Field Saturday at 3 p.m.
